Missing Nehama

Dear Nehama,

I miss you.

Two weeks ago was Chemo #11, last week was Chemo #12, and even though Chemo #13 for my sister was yesterday, I just didn't have the get-up-and-go this morning to make it to minyan.  I figured I'd make it uptown to see you at noon, but when I looked at the clock again, it was 11:04, and I knew that neither seeing you nor enjoying a "Shabbos bagel" during Torah study this week was meant to be.

Next Shabbat, I'll be hosting a brunch for a friend who will be visiting from out of town, and the following week I'll be in New Jersey for Temple Emanu-El's Diana S. Herman Memorial Scholar-in-Residence weekend.

I hope to catch up with you (and Moses and the Israelites, of course!) on March 21.  By then not only will it be spring, but Lil' Zigs will be done with chemo!  Looking forward to seeing you and my minyan buddies then.

In the meantime, Shabbat shalom.

Take care,
~ Jane.
